Let me start by saying that I am lucky that my husband can cook and take care of Camille when I’m not home. I am well aware that there are plenty of husbands who don’t know their way around the kitchen. But, with that said, I still can’t believe what my husband fed her for dinner.

It was Father’s Day and we all had a very late lunch before I left for work. So, she wasn’t starving when dinner time came and it’s a good thing
My husband decided to feed her tater tots and hard salami for dinner! I couldn’t believe it when he told me, it took a minute to sink in! What’s even more amazing, I told a few dads that I work with here at newschannel 5, Curtis Jackson and Paul Kiska , and they didn’t think there was anything wrong with the dinner selection! Are you kidding me? They all thought it was a balanced meal with protein and carbohydrates. Like I said, I am lucky my husband can take care of a toddler, but I guess I am going to have to cook more or at least start leaving a menu to follow! Once again, this makes me realize that moms and dads parent differently, not better or worse, just differently

The only thing missing was the ice cream for dessert so she could get her calcium! Sounds like a perfect meal to me!
Tracy,
I had to laugh when I read this. After your second child tater tots and salami IS a balanced meal as one runs out of time and can barely get that together. You make me laugh. =)
Tracy,
I agree with Barb. After the second child, as long as the kid eats something, I am thrilled! It doesn’t really matter in the long run.

Hi Tracy!
You had me waiting to read what your husband fed Camille for dinner. I just read your blog. Have to admit I did have a little chuckle on that one. But…doesn’t tater tots go with everything? lol Most men look at that as having meat and potatoes. Good to know when you are away Camille will not starve. Dad will think of something. He tried…

I had to laugh when I read this. I work evenings so I have the same problem, except my husband doesn’t cook. I actually cook dinner before I go to work so that all he has to do is heat it up in the microwave.
Yep, 6 kids here and anything that is meant to go into your mouth is fair game to be considered dinner:-) Of course my 2-yr-old diligently looks for markers around our house so she can suck on the ink – definitely not dinner fare:-)
6 daughters and I do the cooking. Sounds like a perfectly normal dinner! It could have been so much worse…. !
I think the dinner choice was OK; especially considering she wasnt that hungry to beging with. With how picky some kids can be (& mine is THAT picky) i’d be happy to hear from dear ol’ hubby she ate!
