Kids With Cancer

I did a story today about a little girl, 5-year-old Taylor Nelson, who is fighting cancer.  She was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was just 3 years old.  Taylor and her family live outside of Youngstown and for 2 years have been traveling to the children’s hospital at the Cleveland Clinic  for treatment.   The family uses their lap top to communicate with family and friends when Taylor has long visits at the hospital.  In the midst of dealing with Taylor’s cancer, her family is helping others. The family decided to donate 4 lap top computers to the pediatric oncology department so other kids can do the same.  Taylor’s parents are amazing!  I often wonder how parents who face illness or tragedy with a child find the strength to carry on.  Taylor’s mother told me it is Taylor who gives her strength. The family is asking anyone who would like to donate old computers, DVDs, or even coloring books to consider donating the items to the children’s hospital at the Cleveland Clinic pediatric oncology unit. Taylor still has more treatment to go through to hopefully beat this cancer.  Children should not be fighting cancer,  they should be playing childhood games . Tonight, my heart and prayers are with all of those little ones who are battling cancer.

Here is the address if you would like to donate:
